SRC Talent Series – Public Speaking

November 11, 2023 @ 12:00 pm - 3:00 pm

Public Speaking

SRC is launching a series of events to promote various talents within community members while sharing some food.

We are starting with developing public speaking skills, more to follow in other events, Inshallah.

Our children will be tomorrow’s leaders and we need to nurture them from a young age. One of the strongest ability of a leader is their speech. At SRC we would like to give them an opportunity to build this skill by participating in this event.

We encourage parents to utilise the time off for the half-term break and help prepare their children on topics mentioned below depending on their age group.

Event format:

Speech activity will start sharply at 12:30PM and last for 1.5 hours.
Participants will be divided into two groups, Junior school (9-12 years) and Secondary school (13-16 years)

Children in the Junior school group will get three minutes to speak.
They can choose to speak about any of the five most important prophets in Islam:

  • Prophet Muhammad (PBUH)
  • Prophet Ibrahim (PBUH)
  • Prophet Musa (PBUH)
  • Prophet Nuh (PBUH)
  • Prophet Isa PBUH)

Children in the Senior school group will get five minutes to speak.
Their topics involve some research and learning. Topics for them are:

  • Importance of Jerusalem for Muslims
  • Isra and Miraj

Food: Please bring some food to share, as it is lunch time, but please limit it to finger food. The focus is on the children public speaking.

Please register your presence for your event and your child’s name for the competition. Registration for the competition is based on first come first serve basis
