Social Enterprise CBC
Led by Middlesex University
Middlesex University is working in partnership with London Southbank University and Durham University to run the social enterprise CBC. The CBC will work to train researchers on social enterprise issues and develop links between social enterprises and academics.
PhD studentships established:
Middlesex University
- In partnership with Unltd, looking at older social entrepreneurs;
- In partnership with Ethnic Minority Foundation, looking at ethnic minority related social enterprises and the 2012 Olympics;
- With Development Trust Association, on Peer learning and innovation;
- With Crisis, looking at homelessness and social enterprise.
University of Durham
- In partnership with One Northeast, focusing on reconciling business and ethical goals;
- In partnership with Acumen, on the role of social enterprises in the experience of unemployment and worklessness.
Knowledge Transfer Partnerships established:
These have so far been established with RNID and RNIB, measuring the impact of social enterprise activities.
Vouchers:
Work is currently being carried out on two vouchers, with Action for Kids and Social Firms UK
